SW trip, day 3, Friday

Up at 5, made coffee (brought from home yum).Watched a chipmunk...not a canyon squirrel because of the striped head...give his familiar monosyllabic lovelorn call from the logs of the cabin next door.  it's 9:40, just did an awesome hike out to Angels Point. Having more coffee and contemplating plans. Decided not to drive to vistas today and give the rental (and my butt) a break. Geology talk at 3, dinner rez at 6:30. Overcast today,  around 70, suits me just fine.

Get a lot of info just listening and talking to other travelers,  so drive to Page tomorrow will involve an old Navajo bridge and, with luck, condor sightings. Think I'll download some photos now.

Well, THAT happened!  Flash thunderstorm caught me twixt hall and cabin. Amazing..storm over the Grand Canyon!  Nice and cool, too.  Now sitting in the Saloon, power is flickering, surrounded by happy, wet people.

Funny how seating for one works. Fortunately I have spent enough hours seeing the vista that a table by the service area is just fine with me. Can still see the windows. And shook the biker pickup Guy, but that's another blog. "middle aged woman traveling alone" - stay tuned :-)

Did you know that a California condor, seated, is about as tall as my friend Rose Ann? They're rumored to hang out at Navajo Bridge; will look tomorrow end route to Page. No chance for night sky shots, too overcast. Early to bed.

Comments:
Not a big fan of blogspot. Will have to wait and see if you approved my previous post, or if it is lost in the netherworld.

I presume that is a drawing of a bug you discovered. One problem with this blog site is you can't expand the photos and they commonly appear on their side. Couldn't you do all this in Google+?
